I made this cute little card for a friend that just had surgery. She had to be off her feet for a while and I thought this might cheer her up. I wanted to do something cutesy. Since Ariel wanted to walk on her own two legs so badly, I figured this was a perfect fit. I placed all the images on my Gypsy screeen to make sure they would fit on the card front, including the text. I then set all my paper selections on my mat to line up with my selected images and cut everything at once. The text was drawn on the front cardstock using my Cricut Markers. I was not over-excited about the way it came out as it didn’t really pop out at you, but I left it. 🙂
The inside square and scalloped mat were cut with my Nestabilities. The sentiment was printed on my computer and I centered the Nestabilities over the text and secured it in place with painters tape before running through the Cuttlebug. So simple!
And here is a closeup of Ariel. Cut with C’oredinations cardstock and dressed up with a little stickles squiggled over to give the appearance of glittery scales. I also shaded her a tiny bit with my Copics and added highlights with my Inkssentials white pen. What a difference a little shading truly makes. Click on her for an even closer look.
Thanks for stopping by today for a visit.

Katie, you are so funny. I wish I looked like Ariel and could pull off wearing the mermaid skirt! LOL
I’m more like Ursula on most days.
