Living the Art Life™

WOYWW and 21st Sassy Lil’ Sketches

by Cheryl 24 Comments

Hello my blogworld friends.  If you are here for WOYWW, keep scrolling down just a bit.  If you’re looking for some inspiration today, here is a good sketch to get started.  Today, the 21st gals posted their takes on the following sketch over at Sassy Lil’ Sketches.  If you play along with this sketch, we’d love to see your take on it.  This one is a great classic that will work for so many subjects/themes.
It has been hectic around here.  Staying busy busy busy.   Besides all my routine daily life activities of being a mom and wife and working a full-time job, I have made time for crafty stuff and even started walking/jogging again.  However, I haven’t made the time to take good pics and post on my blog.  And some of the projects I have been working on are for other deadlines and will be posted later.   I’ve also been busy trying to start preparing for my 3 day Scrap-N-Stay weekend, which is coming up next weekend.  I’ll be meeting my friends Jackie and Susan for a weekend crop hosted by Vero Scrapbook.   I haven’t really started packing anything yet, but I have some pictures edited and printed and I’ve been saving scrapbook kits for months just for this crop retreat.   Next week will be sorting and trying to minimize what I take.  Wish me luck.   This will actually be the first big weekend crop I’ve attended.  It’s not too far from home, but I’m sure I’ll overpack.   I’ve gotten really used to scrapping at home.

Nevertheless, here is my room from the doorway as it looked for this quick pic moment. On my desktop is a little project that I’m working on that I’ll be able to share with you and Sassy Lady fans on Friday, so please come back to see it finished.   And I didn’t want to take it all off the desk to show a pic.  Sorry.  But, you can click on the picture for a bigger image and get a good ‘nosey’ around my room.  🙂
I did make a minor change in my scraproom this last weekend.  I added two more JetMax cubes (those that are open there) under my countertop (they were on sale at Michaels) and DH helped me raise my desk top to standing height.  I kept finding myself standing quite often and moving from cutting area to desk so I am trying this to see how it works.  So far, so good.  If I want to sit down, I can still sit in my chair and just turn around to the counter top.   My laptop has been going back and forth from desk to counter depending on what I’m working on.  I’ve had it open quite often as I’ve been video chatting and scrapping online with friends from one town over, to Maine, to the UK (Hi, Paula!!).  It has been a great way for me to have company and get some projects done at the same time.   And sometimes, it is very inspirational to have someone else to bounce ideas off.
So, there you go.  Another peak in my craftroom.  I’ll try to be around to visit you all this week, but it will take me a few days.   If you want to see some more workdesks, craftrooms and great crafty projects click on the WOYWW button on my sidebar to the right and start at Ms. Julia’s blog.
Thanks for stopping by.
Cher~

Oh WOw, this is fabulous! How I would love a wander around this lot.
I like your laptop stand, that seems like a really good idea… and a table that can be varying height… very clever.
I really enjoyed my snoop, sorry it’s taken a while to get around to you!

You have an amazing amount of craft space. You also have some really clever storage solutions. Great organization skills. I also prefer to stand while making art. Don’t know why, I just do. Sorry I’m so late getting here this week. It has been a really busy time for me. Hope you had a lovely WOYWW.

It’s such a wonderful space, and another craft room painted green, must be the in colour, or maybe it’s just calming?

Hi Cher – lovely to see “the bigger picture” – did you manage to that thing you were working on yesterday? I’ve not done any crafting today in too much pain – after i’d moved my laptop on the desk too – i took it back off so i could sit on the sofa all day. I’m just trying to figure out where you sit when we chat cos i’m sure I see dangly things behind you LOL…

I’ll be back to check your LO when you’ve finished it.

    Catch you soon
