I am trying to find a nice wine cabinet, but have not found one I am crazy about (and can afford) yet that will also look good in my house. For the time being, my wine bottles are stored in a cubby shelf I bought from Target stacked on another coordinating cabinet. I improvised.
Now, I’ve been wanting to dress this little wall up a little. It faces my working office (not crafting studio) and divides my living room from kitchen. I also found this great wine cork barrel while enjoying a girls’ getaway in Mount Dora a few weekends ago. I love that it will display my corks and the wire top has a hole in the top center to drop your corks in. So, now it really needed something else to play up the themed wall.
Since I had vinyl out this week, I searched for a quote that would work on my wall. I found this great quote by Galileo and used my Gypsy to write it out. The quote reads, “Wine is sunlight held together by water. ” I used Songbird font (love this font) for the main quote and Plantin Schoolbook for Galileo’s name. I used the kerning feature to bring the letters in -.25. I still had to scootch a few over to get them to line up well and then welded them all together. I then added an image of the wine bottle and glass from Summer in Paris and sized it to 12″. These were all placed on a 12 x 24 layout and using 12 x 24 black vinyl.
I cut using my Expression and the kiss-cut method with blade at 4, pressure at 3. Cleaned up the excess and centers of letters and then used transfer tape to transfer to my wall.
I love looking at my little wine wall now.
Thanks for stopping by.
Beautiful, I love that cork holder.
The wall looks great! Love the cork holder and of course, my favorite Yankee Candles!
It came out beautiful. I’ll be over tomorrow for a glass.
