Wow! I’m on a roll this week with my blog posts! I’ve been looking at this challenge over at Bitten By the Bug all week wondering what to do with this little bird. Finally, tonight it all came together in my head, and then on my Gypsy, and finally on paper!
This little bird is just too sweet, don’t you think? Click on any of my pictures for a closer look. This one is so very pretty in person.
I am enjoying the BBTB challenges. They challenge you to use images from your Cricut Cartridges that you may not regularly use. Of course, it is getting a little easier now that I’m finally growing my Cricut Cartridge library. The frame, bird and leaves are all from Storybook. I originally welded these together in my Gypsy as one background piece. I copied the leaves and the bird and placed them on my mat in a different location so that I could cut them out of different papers and layer them over the orignal welded image. The background shadow frame was also cut again separately. The background shadow, card base, and embossed card front are PaperTrey Ink paper. I embossed card front with Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls. The actual frame, leaves, bird, and sentiment are cut from Coredinations Cardstock. I love how that is cutting with the Cricut. It was hard for me to start turning from Bazzill paper, but Coredinations cuts beautifully with my Cricut. Finally, the sentiment came from Wild Cards and was glittered with Great Impressions Sparkling Ice. I do have my gypsy file saved and will start looking at how these other creative scrappers are sharing files on their blogs. Then I can share a few of my creations as well. In the meantime, if you would like this .gypsy file, please email me and leave me a comment and I’d be happy to send it to you.
