I always find my happy place when using papers from Little Yellow Bicycle. This Clothesline collection was no exception. I had seen a mini album similar to this in Lakeland, and have wanted to make one since. I’m not sure who made it in order to give credit, but just loved the original one I saw; it was done as a Christmas album with wonderful Christmas papers. When I received this gorgeous paper from Everything Scrapbook and Stamps for my DT project, I knew I wanted to grab some extra to make two of these albums – one for the store and one for me personally. This is the project I started working on in April and was working on during my NSD retreat also. I took inspiration from the album I had previously seen and added a few more pockets I have learned to make and little flaps and embellies. I hope you find inspiration and enjoy looking at all the pictures I have included. I haven’t added any of my own pictures yet. I have kept the one with Bloom on it and am going to use it for some of my gardening photos. The other is in the store for display, so please make sure you stop by to see it and grab some of this paper collection while still there. This would be perfect for any Spring or Summer pictures / projects.
Here are some close-ups of the flowers I added to the front of the two albums. The top one is mine and the one on the bottom is for the store. I glimmer misted the flower on the bottom and the sticker embellies are from the LYB Clothesline collection.
The album itself is 6 x 12. Here is a little pocket I made and included various journaling tags in the pocket. I had so much fun making all the different sizes and flips.
I later went back and clipped mini clothespins on these tags. They are so so cute.
Back side of pocket. Right page would be great with some matted photos.
I added an transparency from Teresa Collins Bebe Girl collection because the ruler coordinated so well.
The top layer was cut from the other half of the shaped paper I used for the cover. I centered the point. The border for the second layer was created using a Martha Stewart punch.
More pockets and different sized papers. I cut a strip of ruler from the ruler paper and wet it and then scrunched it as I glued it to the pocket to create the illusion of a tape measuring ribbon. Click on any of these pics for a closer look.
This page was created with a file folder. I love all the hidden places for pictures or journaling. It’s like a hide and seek game!
Peek – a – boo!
This was a really cool pocket I learned how to make from Following the Paper Trail. She made a whole album out of this pocket with different papers and colors and it was adorable. I stamped and embossed the butterflies with T!m Holtz stamps. All the tags are removable.
Even this large one on the back.
This is just one piece of paper scored in thirds one way and then cut in thirds the opposite way on the smaller scored third.
Here is a little butterfly I cut with my Cricut. I scored it in half and tied it into the album with ribbon.
And finally, the END. I wrapped the last paper around a piece of chipboard cut just a teensy bit smaller than 6″ wide. This heavier back gave more stability to the entire album. The album was bound using my BIA and 1″ O-wires.
I hope you enjoyed my “Show N Tell” for today. I truly loved creating these albums and really can’t wait to add more pics to mine and display on my coffee table.
Thanks for stopping by and visiting with me.
