I can play Go Fish, Rummy, and I use to know how to play Canasta. Now, Joly and I play Snerds, but not often enough, with my good friends, Sue and Todd. We have the best times and stay up later than we should and laugh so hard we are just silly. So, everytime I see a deck of cards, i think of Sue. One of these little notepads is for you, sweetie!
I decided to take an online class with My Creative Classroom. I’m taking one titled Binding Outside the Box. I thought it would be fun to create some different types of mini albums than the standard. This was our first assignment in this class. We were to take a deck of cards and create a mini notebook. The notebook only needed 1/2 a deck, so I figured why not alter the other half while I was at it and make 2; one for me and one for Sue!
These were first inked with Tim Holtz alcohol inks and then stamped with images from Inkadoo called Mindscapes and note phrases are from an awesome Papertrey Ink set titled Take Note. I can’t wait to make some more things with that PT set. Little note-lined papers were rounded and glued to the branded side of the card.
Finally, with just a little stickles and a litte Copic Spica pens and they were ready to bind. I bound them with 3/4″ O-wire and my Bind It All and added a little ribbon. How cute to recycle old cards and have a note pad that will easily fit in your purse and in your hand.
So Sue, do you want the green or the redish-purple one? Luv Ya!
Thanks for stopping by.
Cher~
What a super cute idea! I just got my zutter a little while ago and am always up for fun and creative ideas for it!!
Cheryl, I do love my little “jot it down” book! I have used 4 pages already. It is a perfect size for my purse and I show it to everyone I see. What talent you have and what an amazing friend you are. Love you!!!!
These looks great Cher! Thanks for “playing” along with week one!
Susan, that sounds awesome. I’d love to see it when you are done.
I’m inspired. I’ve got a deck of heart shaped cards I purchased from the $1 bin at Target. Been wondering what to do with them. I could cut some heart shapes from notebook paper using the Cricut.
Thanks for sharing.
LOL. The lined papers are from a template that was just printed out. It was easy to do, but a little messy with the inks. The girls would love it. Sue chose the green book and seemed to really love it!
Very cool Cheryl –
Exactly when did you find time to do that? You amaze me! So, the fun little lined papers – was that from a stamp or were they purchased like that? Looks like a fun project to do with the girls – always looking for pretty immediate satisfaction type things to do with them … our attention spans are only so long you know!
Wow, you work fast! These came out great. My cards are ready and out but haven’t done anything yet.
What an awesome idea! These came out great. I would have never thought of using cards.
You’ll have to remind me how to play Snerds. I don’t think we have played since we live in FL?????
