The view into my studio is a mess today; too many things going on at one time, but the view outside is gorgeous. So, I took today’s project outside for a little photo shoot. I barely made it, but this tag will be entered over at Studio L3 as part of the Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge #6. This was a new technique for me as well and I also agree with Linda that I wasn’t sure if it was going to work until the end, but it did very well.
This Tissue Wrap Collage technique comes from Tim Holtz’ Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2 book, page 38. I will try this one again with a few more twists. The challenge this week is sponsored by The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
I had fun coloring my little chipboard with Viva-Décor’s InkaGold in Platinum and then debossing it with Melody Ross Chip art set. I then tarnished it with a little Distress ink and Distress stains.
I love how this came out. I even spritzed a little Perfect Pearls Mist in Bronze and love the bronzy shimmer.
I also added that InkaGold to the Tim Holtz metal corner that I used as a roof for my little house and all along the edge of the tag. The house and little birdie are Tim Holtz Alteration dies.
I topped my tag with Prima Angel eyes flower and some Chatterbox Ribbon.
Thanks for stopping by today.

LOVE all of the techniques you used in this piece, Cheryl. I got all excited when I saw the element that looks metal stamped…since I am addicted to metal stamps! Then as I read I realized that it’s chip. How cool! The Inka Gold really gives it a metallic look. That’s awesome.
Cheryl Boglioli says
Thank you so much. I am dying to try my hand at playing with metal but haven’t done so yet. I’ve got to get some tools and pieces. :-). Soon.

I mostly make cards, but have decided to try my hand at something different. This is so pretty.

LaWanda, you would love making tags; they can be quick and easy or ornate. You can add them to a card front or put them in a card as a gift. We need to get together soon.
Peggy @The Decorating Files says
This is so beautiful! I love it! I’d really like to try stamping; do you have any suggestions for someone that is new to it?
Cheryl Boglioli says
Thank you, Peggy. Find out what kind of stamping you would like to do. Is there someone or someplace nearby where you can play with some? Stamping would be great on some of your home decor pieces. I love the sentiments to be used in my journaling for cards, canvases, and layouts, but I also love any that can be used as bits and pieces to create backgrounds. My favorite stamps are the cling mount rubber stamps. Try them with inks, paints, gelattos, etc.

Any plans for all those tags you are making? I’m always looking for ideas for using mine.
Cheryl Boglioli says
I will use some for card fronts or to go in my art journals, but these for the challenge are going up on my receipt holder to be used a reference.
