Tada, here is the reveal for my Refreshed, Revised, and Rebranded website. I had all the major building blocks in place for my Brand – Cheryl Boglioli Designs – but I lacked cohesiveness and consistency.
CALL IN THE EXPERTS
I knew much needed to be done, but dreaded all the work and changes needed. Everytime I try to make any changes to my website, it’s like learning a new program all over again.
So I had a consultation with my friend Lisa Cavanas over at Rock My Creative Business. Lisa was patient in asking questions about what my purpose was and what I wanted my website to look like.
Most importantly, we determined that I had the building blocks in place: my business name, official logo, and my purpose – Living the Art Life™ but I wasn’t showcasing this all in a consistent, cohesive look. We discussed some goals and some minor changes for a new Rebranded look:
Revised
- artistic but clean website design
- consistent, cohesive design across the entire site
- complete overhaul of my Teaching the Art Life™ Workshops page – it was really a hot mess beforehand
- clean up online store
- make sure I’m compliant with affiliates, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and online store
- add SSL
- set up site for future growth (*possible online classes?? )
- improve page loading
- improve SEO
- get rid of crappy plug-ins I was afraid to delete
Refreshed
First, Lisa was a great coach, helping me further define my goals and business aspirations and she really gave me the kick in the butt I needed. She also helped guide me through the scary part of making changes on my website, walking me through any changes she made and showing me how to make these myself for regular maintenance.
After some minor cosmetic changes with my Home page that would display across entire site, we began rebuilding the major pages of my entire site. In addition, I added the SSL certificate so you have the comfort of knowing anytime you buy from my SHOP, your data is protected. 😀
The most noteworthy change was the major overhaul of my Teaching The Art Life™ Workshops page. All my classes were previously listed on one page where you had to scroll…
and scroll to see all the classes I offered and usually I just added the newest to the top. No real order there, duh…
But Lisa showed me how to create a grid of photos that linked to individual pages for each workshop and created categories for easy navigation. Now you can easily see my Gel Press, Powertex, or Mixed Media classes and I still have room to grow. So click over to Teaching the Art Life™ Workshops page to see the dramatic difference. Much easier to navigate, yes?
All other pages were cleaned up and streamlined. We reviewed a list of guidelines that I can follow when adding new classes, new products, or a new blog post. *if you know me, you know I love a checklist 🙂
Rebranded
As part of the Rebranding, and with Lisa’s encouragement, I decided have an avatar created custom designed that would easily be recognizable as ME anywhere you see her.
I think this came out great and is easily recognizable as me, don’t you think so? And as I own the source file and all rights to the image, I can make any edits and changes.
Rocked my Creative Business
If you only need to Refresh and Revise your brand, Lisa can help you. If you need to find your Brand and come up with a business plan, she can do that too. Lisa helped take the dread and fear out of making changes and her guidance and coaching has definitely Revised, Refreshed, and Rebranded my website and has helped Rock My Creative Business.
