Living the Art Life™

Other Interests bring Inspiration

I’ve been in my craft room so much lately and I’ll confess I’ve spent more time researching or planning rather than creating. Now this week, I’ve been in a slump and not really motivated… not really motivated to do ANYTHING. UGH…

Today, I decided to actually spend more time on some neglected domestic chores. I cleaned the floors, deep cleaned the kitchen, paid bills, started laundry, and made a chuck roast for dinner (which I let cook all day), homemade mashed potatoes, green beans and homemade whole-wheat bread. Bread is one of my specialties that I haven’t taken the time to do lately. I make our bread from scratch – I even grind my own grains. Since I haven’t made it in a while, I made a big batch. I have a mani / pedi appt tomorrow and even plan to take Denise a loaf! Here is a pic of my bread which came out so pretty today. My family will enjoy this with some butter tonight as well as for toast and sandwiches this week. Doesn’t it just look yummy?

What surprised me was that while waiting for the bread to rise, and while dinner was cooking and floors were drying, I found that I kept going back into my craft room to make a note of an idea or to actually design a layout on my (still nameless) Gypsy. I guess I just needed a break from trying to think so hard and needed to do something which didn’t require a lot of creative thought to get my mojo flowing again. The only thing that makes this a bad thing is that I have to work full days Thursday and Friday and have appointments most of tomorrow afternoon. So, I may not be able to put my ideas and designs together with paper and glue! 🙁 Can I keep the inspiration until the weekend? Maybe I can just keep designing on my Gypsy until I get time to sit down and cut and crop photos. That’s what she is for, right?

Anyone want to come over and crop with me this weekend?

Thanks for stopping by!
Cher~
