You’ll see that I am trying to catch up on photos that I’m SO far behind on. I’m also trying to use up my stash of paper so that I can buy some more of the new stuff before it’s old again. I’m proud of myself and love that I’m getting rid of hoarded paper and embellies! However, I find myself finally getting to the point where I don’t have enough of certain things to put together a complete layout easily.
This layout below was a struggle for me. I had this old photo that I wanted to journal about and put in Joly’s album. However, the colors in the photo were awful. Sage and I both had ‘loud’ colors on, my old place had a lot of blue flowers everywhere – on the wall and table cloth- and then the cake we were featuring had ALL the M&M colors on it! Let me just say it was very busy and nothing coordinated with it. I am trying to learn how to use Photoshop Express (until I can afford Photoshop), so I scanned this photo and then used a grainy filter on it to give it an aged look. This toned it down enough that I thought it would make a great shabby chic layout. And this is my result.
PS. Thanks to my friend Katie for looking at it online – LOVE Google chat – and giving my suggestions to bring it all together. It’s a little different than where you saw it last, but I liked the way it came out.
I used Prima pp from the Whisper Collection, Bazzill cardstock, Prima flowers, American Crafts journal block, Urban Chic Frame from Screen Prints, Papertrey Ink ribbon and buttons, Fancy Pants Glitter cut, and leftover Scrabble tiles from an old game. I inked most of everything with Distress Inks and pulled out the sewing machine to do some stitching. I’ve been dying to use some of those tiles and not make it a ‘game’ page.
Oh, I’ll be in Tampa for a few days. I’m going to go visit with my friend LaWanda. We’re going to go to her mom’s and make some cards and we’re going to try to take a day and go visit scrapbook stores in that area. Most of all, I’m going to spend some time catching up with my dear friend and relaxing for a few days. I may drop in while gone. If not, I’ll post an update next week.
Thanks for sharing your comments and thanks so much for stopping by. See ya again soon!

I really love how this came out! It has a touch of shabby that really pull in the papers to your photo (which came out great!).
