Mine and DH’s love song is not so original, but it’s ours. It is “Love Song” by The Cure. We are definitely fans of 80s music. I had also really struggled with making him a Valentine card, but the outcome did put a smile on his face, so it was worth it.
Here is the front. The card was created with a white cardstock base edged with new Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet ink and layered with black cardstock embossed with Meadow Lark Cuttlebug embossing folder. The heart image is from Cricut cartridge Love Struck 2010. I welded the music notes from Gypsy Wandering into the original design and then layered the same notes on top. The papers and die-cut embellishment are from Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters collection.
The top layer with the birds is this beautiful piece with flocked floral images. I was concerned with how that would cut with the Cricut, but it actually did quite well.
The inside was layered with the same papers. The sentiment was part that I struggled with, but thankfully, my great friend, Sue, is a piano teacher and gave me a brush up on my music theory. I knew the message I wanted to say, but wasn’t sure I was getting the wording just right. Sue helped explain that when two people are in perfect harmony singing, it will sound like one. And, you can’t have harmony without melody. Thanks, Sue! This was printed on my computer. It reads, “I’m so thankful that you provide the melody that creates the perfect harmony for our “Love Song”. Happy Valentine’s Day.
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day. I did. I received an absolutely gorgeous necklace with Venetian glass from DH to match a bracelet he gave me for Christmas. He is the best at picking out jewelry. Thanks, dear.
Thanks for stopping by.

The card looks even lovelier in this photo! Love the intricate details of the heart & music notes.
Love it! Great job as always with that Cricut!
