Living the Art Life™

It’s WOYWW

by Cheryl 27 Comments

It’s already Wednesday again.  That means it is WOYWW (What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday).  If you have not fallen into this snoopy trap, make sure you visit Julia at Stamping Ground to see who is responsible for starting this craze!   Last week was the first time I had participated and I have to admit that I met some of the most friendly and amazingly talented artists from around the WORLD!

So, above is my desk this Wednesday morning.   I’ve started a family album that I’ve had stashed under my desk for a few months now.  It is a Teresa Collins Family Gratitude File Album.  I loved the contrast of using mostly all black and red colors, but mostly the unusual size of 7 x 13.  I’ve just started this, so we’ll see how long it takes to finish.

I’m actually going to follow much of the instructions that came with this kit because I need something structured and preplanned right now just to get me motivated this week.  I’ll alter it just a bit and add lots of extra ink, though.   You’ll see that the inks are already starting to come out.  I’m going to try to add a little
T!m and Teresa in this album!!!

You’ll see I have my new ATG gun.  Oh, why didn’t I order this sooner?  It goes on SOOO smoothly.  Everyone was backordered for so long, but mine finally arrived last week.  My BG files are there next to my wipies.  Those are used to clean up some of the die cuts.  Oh, and that little pen looking tool next to my red bling is The Quicker-Poker-Picker-Upper by QuicKuts.   I have that on hand ALL the time and have one as a back up.  This little guy helps my place my little gems, die cuts, pearls, and/or any little thing that needs picked up and placed just right.  I use this rather than tweezers and would be lost without it.  It is probably one of my most used tools.  If you have any other questions, just let me know and I’ll try to answer as quickly as possible.

Thanks for stopping by.   Make sure you go visit all the other workdesks over at Julia’s site.  I’ll start noseying around after work and it will take me a few days to come around to all, but I’ll get there.

I really have to start packing this week for a crop I have coming up at the end of this month.  I’ve started prepping in my head, but have not started putting layouts together.   I do have some paper kits I’ve been saving and I have some pics on their way from the developer.   Next week I’m guessing my desk will be covered in photos???

Thanks for stopping by today.
Cher~

that family album your working on looks so promising already – the colours together are so sophisticated too.

I’ve considered an ATG gun before – are they really as good as you say? some say that they speed up your crafting. would love to know if the glue is good enough that it doesn’t start to come undone after a while.

thanks for sharing your space and showing us your desk… which has some fabby yummy stuff on it.

Your family album sound sdelish, my fav colour combo is red/black/white – it always looks stunning!!

You asked about the ATG stand next to my desk… I made it myself as I hated lifting the gun off the desk every time, this way it is always the right way up and ready to go!! I made it from chipboard and its easy peasy….

You need one piece of chipboard 6 1/2″ long by 4 1/2″ wide
two pieces chipboard 3 1/4″ long by 4 1/2″ wide
Lay long piece of chipboard on your chosen paper and glue down taking edges over to make it neat.
Lay the two smaller pieces onto one length of paper and leave one end extra long to use to attach to the bottom of the first bit. Fold up into a mountain shape and use the other extended piece of paper to fasten down onto the top of the long bit.

    Hope that helps!!
