This is one of my favorite layouts I have ever done. It is another of those I have been holding onto until I found the ride ‘mood’, layout, color-combination, etc. to strike me. This is a picture of my father baptizing me when I was a little girl. I was baptized in a little cow pond and this is the only picture I have of this event, so it is special to me. The title is a play on words since I am in my Daddy’s hands in the picture, but by baptizing me, he is placing me in His hands, my Heavenly Father.
Thanks so much to Aymee for the sketch. I used her sketch #32. You can see her sketch here. I love Aymee’s style and her main blog as well. If you haven’t visited A Scraphappy Southernbelle, you should. She is a very talented young lady. It was also from her site that I got the idea and information about doing the folded ribbon border. Here is a close up.
For this layout, I used paper from My Mind’s Eye; Tres Jolie / Bonjour. American Crafts Ribbon as well as some others I had in a jar and some brown rick-rack. I also used some flowers that again were in a jar and I don’t have the name for (sorry). The journal paper is from CM and the journal frame is from the same paper line as the pp. Faith is a rub-on from Rhonna Farrer Keywords Rub-ons. It is on a frame and mat cut with my Cricut using Storybook cartridge. In His hands was cut using Jasmine cart. I inked the edges of the layout with Ranger distress ink.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work. Comments are appreciated!
What a beautiful layout, Cher! Again, your use of color compliments the picture wonderful. The ribbon folding is very cool! I will definitely have to check out Aymee’s site.
