Please join me in wishing my Mom a Happy Birthday! Her birthday is Tuesday, October 27th.
This card may be one of the best I’ve made yet…to me. And I have to give thanks to Betsy Veldman at Paper Scissors Superheroes. I saw her card in the PaperTrey Ink Forum. Click HERE to see her card which was my inspiration…or rather my template because I copied quite a bit of hers! Just scroll down to see hers, but enjoy all her others while there. Thank goodness scraplifting isn’t illegal. It’s actually the highest form of compliment if you ask me and I love Betsy’s work. She is a very creative and talented lady.
A lot of love went into this card for you, Mom! Please click on any of these pictures to see a larger closer view. I used many products from Papertrey Ink. Enchanted Evening cardstock, ink, and ribbon. I also used Spring Rain cardstock as well as Vintage Cream cardstock and ink. The text print was ripped directly from an old book I have. The stamps were all Papertrey as well. Polka Dot Basics for all the polka dots throughout the card. The sentiments on the outside are from Mega Mixed Messages. The sentiment inside and the flowers are all from Floral Fusion. The die cut on the front was made with my Labels 1 Nestabilities and then stamped with a border from Papertrey Ink’s Vintage Labels. The decor stamps also came from the same set. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this set and hope they create some more to coordinate with my Nestie dies. The black ink is Memento.
You can see even better in this picture where I also used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder on the bottom half of my label. I also added a Dew Drop to the center of my blooms. I colored them with my B26 Copic marker. I also stitched around my text paper. Both labels were popped up with pop dots for added dimension.
On the inside, I added Diamond Glaze to my bloom and a small bead to the inside of each polka dot on the bottom edge. It looks real pretty in person. With the cream ink underneath, they actually look like mini pearls. I’m lacking in the bling supply department and my friend Katie even laughed at me, so I improvised! LOL.
I hope you enjoy your card, Mom. Most of all, I hope you have a great birthday. I love you!
Thank for stopping by today.
