My sister’s birthday will be Wednesday. I’m not too worried that she will see this before then as she is not really into crafting and doesn’t spend a lot of time on the Internet any more. So, don’t tell her until Wednesday!!!
Anyhow, I have been quite busy the last few days! First, I attended a Copic class yesterday at Everything Scrapbook & Stamps. It’s quite a drive for me as it is down in Lake Worth, but so worth the trip. Michelle has a great store and a very friendly staff. It also gave me a chance to swing by and see my brother and his wife and all my nieces!
Today, I have wrecked my craft room, but what fun I had. I am getting the hang of this Cricut Design Software finally. I used it to create my very first Word Book. This is my gift to my sister. If you want the cut file, please email me and I’d be happy to send it to you. I used BG LilyKate to complete the book and bound it with my new Bind It All! I did not add a lot of picture mats, because I want Lisa to be able to put whatever pictures she would like to add. It’s probably a little girly for Lisa, but I’m thinking it will look good on her desk. She owns Skydive AirAdventures in Clewiston, Florida. If you want to go skydiving, go see her!.
The card is another new first for me. It is my first Joy Fold card. I thought it was really cute and can envision creating other cards with the same technique. Look how it opens and closes. I used coordinating papers from the Wordbook and stamped the image with “How Sweet it Is” by MFT stamps. And of course, I colored the image with my Copic markers and used some new coloring techniques I just learned! 🙂
Happy Birthday, Sis!
Hey Sandi. I have bought the Copics locally and online. I’ve got a LSS about 1 hour south in Lake Worth which is awesome. Also try http://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com. She has some great sets, especially for beginners. I’ve also bought from http://www.7kidscollegefund.com. A Cricut definitely needs to be on your wish list. I had the baby bug, but ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Expression even better.
GORGEOUS work!!!!!! I so need some copics, do you buy locally or online? That Lisa album is GREAT! Hmmm… I think a Cricut needs to be on my “list” as well! =)
Yes, I actually cut it out of cereal boxes and then covered with paper. I cut out the same letters with patterned paper. For the back, I just turned the paper face down on the Cricut mat. it really came together much faster than I thought.
So you cut Lisa’s book out from your Cricut????
Anyway….love the book, BG LilyKate is some of my fave paper ever (wonder why?). Your little splashes of embellishments are perfect!
The sentiment on the card is right on! 🙂 I really like that stamp. Great job w/ the markers.
So happy that you are back into crafting!!!!
