Yesterday, I worked more on cleaning and organizing my snazzy little scraproom. I started cleaning out papers that I keep passing over and papers that I will probably never use. It was starting to become emotional baggage because I felt like I MUST use it because I spent the money on it, but I know I won’t and did not like it. I have been trying to use bits of it for “draft” cuts with my Cricut and I use some for making card envelopes with the pattern on the inside in the form of a liner. However, I decided I wanted to donate most of it. I have paper that I purchased when I first started scrapbooking; lots of paper kits and/or packs in colors that definitely don’t inspire me any more. I still have my first pack of scrapbook papers – it was a mega pack from QVC and the colors are all sherbert colors and the weight is the same as my cheap copy/printer paper. I have decided to donate my 5″ stack of ‘never will use’ paper.
I searched for places to donate scrapbooking supplies and found this great link. http://www.simplescrapbooksmag.com/articles/Donate_Your_Scrap_Supplies. Now to contact the organization(s) I choose and box up this paper. I wonder what else I can find in my room to send to these organizations. I feel so relieved that I am purging and donating to a worthy cause. I encourage you to do the same. What do you have that you really will not use and is just taking up physical space and mental space (because you KNOW it’s just sitting there)?
Now, for something to do with the paper I have now decided to keep and have sorted either by manufacturer or color family (i.e brights), Sassy Lil Sketches posted some fresh sassy sketches for us to play with until the 7th. Here are the sketches:
Thank you! This blog post will be advertised on CraftCrave in the Cutting category today (look for timestamp: [23 Feb 01:00pm GMT]).
I also purged some of my supplies. The crop I go to once a month has a place to donate your unwanted items and then the lady that runs the crop donates them to various local charties and organizations including some schools.
You are very generous! I have been sharing that link since you shared it with me.
Can’t wait to see what you do with those Sassy sketches! I hope you get some scrappy time this week.
