I did get Glinda back just in time to head out for my fall Living The Art Life™ trip. She will still need a few minor adjustments when I come back home, but she is definitely a much more stable ride and is not falling apart. I’ll update all of that in a separate post.
For now, I want you to know where I’ve been and where I’m going. This trip started in Orlando where I represented Gel Press teaching a class and working at their booth at The Collins Group Tradeshow.
The class was so much fun and was packed full of goodies. We used Gel Press plate with The Crafter’s Workshop stencils and DecoArt paints on a Graphic 45 ATC box and lots of Prima bling! The store owners left with great ideas to take back and share in new classes.
After leaving Orlando, I drove to my brother’s place in Georgia. My brother added my awning rail back onto Glinda so when camping, I can have a ‘living room’ space. Thank you, Jesse.
I was going to have a sidekick on this trip (aka assistant)! My sister-in-law, Bekah, was excited to be going with me this time. I was looking forward to having an extra set of hands and someone to go sightseeing with. Here we are taking off from their home in Georgia.
Unfortunately, a little over 3 hours into our trip, she received a devastating call that her sister had suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. Jesse jumped in his truck and headed our way and we turned around. We met Jesse just outside Atlanta and he took Bekah back home for them to pack and head out to California. My heart breaks for her and her family. With all we’ve gone through the last month, this was another reminder that life is such a precious gift and each moment should be treasured. We have no idea what tomorrow, much less the next hour may bring. Remember to tell those around you how much you love them. Enjoy the sun shining on your face and the breeze blowing your hair. Turn off everything and really listen to the rain. I’ve turned my radio off a lot during this trip and enjoyed the views, sounds, and have been doing a lot of thinking and reevaluating.
After getting back on the road, I headed for Minneapolis to teach at Bella Craft’s Connection. We had such a great time. Not only did I enjoy teaching a few classes, I had a great time visiting with fellow designers, educators and friends.
I was so honored that I had one of my previous students from Nebraska come out to Minnesota to take a Powertex class. Sheralee took my Tattered Angel/Frayed Fairie class and even brought her son. How cool is that?
We had a jam packed weekend with lots of laughter and created even more memories. Now, I’m headed to Iowa and will be teaching at a retreat for Back Roads Plum Crazy. This will be my first time teaching here, so I’m super excited to meet new friends. Wait until you see where I’ll be staying.
Again, make sure you are following me on all my social media so you can get the latest on my Living The Art Life™ adventures.
