Yes! I’m so excited that I was able to get this adorable glamper that I mentioned in my post Glamping the Art Life. This little baby needs a little work, but she has good bones! Many die-hard vintage trailer fans only consider pre-1969 vintage, but I think she is a vintage beauty and she just missed that cut-off. She is a 1970 Fleetwood Terry trailer. I didn’t want to call her Terry, so, I have decided to name her Glinda Glamper, but we will call her Glinda. Yes, this is the good witch from Wizard of Oz too. The name Dorothy had a chance, but then she’d have to be ruby red, right? Glinda is Welsh for good or fair. I want a good trailer to travel with. The name also found a little popularity in the 1950’s, so it has a little retro flair to it, and it’s not named after any friends I already have. I also found this bit of info on Seven Reflections
What Does Name “Glinda” Mean
You are introspective, prophetic, philosophical, and soul searching, but also can be analytical, critical and opinionated. You think deeply and clearly, have an air of mystery, can be solitary and secretive. You are intuitive and might be interested in the arts, drama or science.
You are always looking for an opportunity to achieve financial and emotional security. You are basically peacemaker. You understand the law of harmony and desire to balance your life with those around you. You may feel incomplete without someone to share your love, ideals, wealth or work. You can be very sensitive and could appear a bit shy and perceptive. You have developed intuition, patience and the ability to nurture others. You can achieve the state of happiness if you is [sic] willing to accept your needs in a complimentary relationship and go to create them.
I love that it says she is soul searching with an air of mystery and interested in the arts! She is also looking for an opportunity to achieve financial and emotional security. Great, I could use those things with this business venture.
She used to have some teal under this not so flattering green. She has been painted with flat latex, very blah.
AC came with it, so I’m leaving that. 🙂
We will need to do some body work. She needs a new fender well and a back lower piece replaced.
The old running lights have been removed and cut out. Most were filled with DAP and covered with Duct tape before painting. Umm, this is coming off, DAP is going to be dug out and we will patch holes with Bondo before painting.
Lots of surface rust on the tongue, but no major damage. A little wire brush action with some rust remover and new paint, and this will look like new. Watch.
Back trunk door will need to be rebuilt. Love that I have a small trunk though. Back bumper there will be sanded and painted to match the tongue.
The interior decorating will be fun to replace. I’m keeping the aqua stove and original icebox. Cabinets will be painted. I’m trying to decide whether to replace or salvage the cushions.
After taking out the cushions, we are left with this. More to come soon on what all we found here.
Thankful for a decent closet. Unfortunately, no bathroom. And while this could hold a portapotty, I’m not dealing with that.
So, I’ll be posting updates as I’m working over at Cheryl Boglioli Designs Facebook Page and Instagram, so I’d love it if you would like my page and say Hi. I hope you’ll stay in touch and enjoy the posts about her rennovation. If you have or are also rennovating a vintage travel trailer, I’d love for you to share your links here or shoot me a message. I would welcome some great ideas and some new friends.

Congrats! Can’t wait to see the transformation!
Cheryl says
Thank you, Susie. I want to see the transformation too. It can be frustrating when you think, “Oh, I just need to paint”, but realize there is so much that needs to be done before we can paint. Keep watching, it will get there. I can’t wait to do a big Before and After.
