The Dress is complete. Woo Hoo! You’ll see that it is a simple dress, but since I hadn’t sewn much more than a quilt or tablecloth in a few years, it was a little bit of a challenge. Add to this the fact that the pattern provided was too small (who makes up pattern sizes anyway?), so that I had to learn to create a new pattern, and that it was also not a really flattering pattern for a curvy girl, it became a stressful project. Nevertheless, it is complete. It may not be perfectly tailored, but my seams are clean and it does fit her standing and sitting! Now she can wear it as part of the wedding party for her dear friend.
I did greatly improve my sewing skills and took full advantage of all sewing supplies being out.

Gorgeous colour, beautiful on that lovely gal – but oh yeah, I know about sewing under stress for my daughter!

If you left a comment this morning, thank you. For some reason, they just disappeared and I cannot figure out where blogger hid them. 🙂 When I went to moderate them, they just disappeared, so I didn’t even get to see your comments.

Very pretty dress worn by a beautiful young lady! You did great I know how difficult these are to make. My daughters went to Pensacola Christian College and had to have 4 gowns a year and I made them. Boy am I glad those days are over! You did great!

Sage looks lovely in the dress you made for her. That color is great on her, too! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!
