Hello, my dear friends. Today is a special day for one really sweet scrapping lady, Debbie, from Creativity Heals. She is having a super Birthday Blog Hop and I am so honored that she asked me to be a participant with her Blog Hop and to share her special week with her. Above is the birthday card I created. I created this using my Gypsy and my Cricut Expression. I started by choosing a frame from Cindy Loo and hiding all the inside contours. Then I duplicated and flipped a copy and welded the two together to make a shaped card. I then created the framed element just a tad smaller. Unfortunately, the frames on Cindy Loo do not have a shadow or black out, so I could not get an absolute perfect fit here. Even by enlarging the base, the swirls did not line up perfectly. Nevertheless, it came out pretty close and still looks really good. The base was cut using Coordination’s embossed paper.
I then took a cute little birdie with a cupcake from 3 Birds on Parade. There was a coordinating phrase saying “You Take the Cake” which was just perfect for this birthday celebration card. So, Debbie, YOU TAKE THE CAKE!! The pattered papers are Echo Park.
To dress up the card some, I used my Jolee’s HotFix tool and added orange rhinestones to the centers of the flowers on the frame. I also decided to cut out the swirl layer and the sentiment with vinyl instead of cardstock. Vinyl is just perfect for cutting smaller phrases and adhering them to cards. I loved this and you’ll definitely see this from me again. Finally, I topped off the cupcake with some crystal Stickles and then some white cream Viva Pearl Pen and sprinkled some orange Martha Stewart glass beads on top for sprinkles. Hope you love it.

It will hold less.
