DCC & Buttons Galore and More Instagram Stand

Welcome to the Designer Crafts Connection and Buttons Galore and More Blog Hop. For my project, I was inspired by Heidi Swapp’s Instagram stands to create my own. These buttons from Buttons Galore were just so bright and colorful, I decided to play them up.

smoothfoamstand

My project began by using Helmar Foam glue to adhere two pieces of Smoothfoam together as my base. I added the wooden dowel right right through the center cube reinforcing with a little extra glue. Loved how the Helmar Foam glue grabbed the foam and dried clear. Using Viva Décor US Inka Gold in some gorgeously bright colors, I rubbed the colors onto the Smoothfoam and wooden dowel. The clip was colored with Ranger alcohol inks and sealed with Helmar Crystal Cote in a gloss finish before adhering to dowel with a little Helmar Liquid Scrapdots and some colored wire. Finally, all these lovely buttons were adhered to the Smoothfoam base again using Helmar Foam glue and…. Voila! Now I have a colorful stand to display any little photos and brighten up my day!

With my selection of buttons, I didn’t really stick to the wedding theme for this one. However, I could definitely see this project with different colors being used as wedding reception centerpieces, don’t you? How fun this would be with some Instagram photos of the ‘happy couple’ on each table.

Make sure to hop through the rest of the blogs with Designer Crafts Connection and leave your comments as there are prizes.

Buttons Galore and More will be giving away a prize to a random commenter. Viewtainer is also going to supply a container for the buttons.

Thanks for stopping by.

Why thank you. It was fun to create too and play with a few new supplies. I honestly hadn’t tried the Helmar Foam glue before, but so glad I had it.
