Christmas Tag Swap using Sizzix Eclips and Stamp2Cut

by Cheryl 3 Comments

I haven’t participated in any swaps in a long time, but when I was asked to play along with some blogging friends for a diecut tag swap, I decided to jump in.  I received a package of gorgeous, fun tags in return designed by various designers.

I decided to play with the Sizzix Eclips to create my tags with some fun Tim Holtz stamps and using Stamp2Cut cartridges.   Want to make your own?

1.  Using a standard #8 tag stamp a variety of images with different Archival inks to create a layered background.

2.   Emboss tags with selected Texture Fade/embossing folder.

3.   Cover entire tag with Ranger Rock Candy crackle paint and allow to dry.

4.    Add any extra inking to tag and wipe off excess.

5.   Stamp desired images to cardstock.  I stamped reindeer using Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and embossed using WOW matte clear embossing powder.  I stamped Seasons Greetings sentiment with Versamark and embossed with Sparkle & Sprinkle embossing powders.

6.   Follow directions for Stamp2Cut and cut stamped images using Sizzix Eclips. Don’t forget any shadows or solid shapes to coordinate and layer with your images when cutting.   Can you believe the accuracy and detail we can cut using our Sizzix Eclips?  I am loving it!

7.   Using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive, Helmar Liquid Scrapdots and Helmar Zapdots adhesives, I layered all my diecuts on the background tag.

8.   Finish with custom died ribbon and any extra embellishments.

Now, create some of your own holiday tags.   These are great for home décor, quick gift tags, and scrapbook embellishments.   Enjoy.

Now, I’ll admit I am totally cheating here, but instead of recreating the wheel, I’ll share a link with you of one of the gals we swapped with who shared all her tags.  Carolyn at Carolyn’s Creative Corner took the time to take a close-up picture of each tag and will be updating with links as she gets them from each designer.   So, go there and take a peek.   Please tell her that Cheryl B sent you!

And here is a link list of all the participants; a few have already shared their tags and many more will be sharing soon.
