Post has been updated: Our DT Contest has been extended until 11/23/2013, Saturday night at midnight, to give you a chance to make something to share and participate with our Christmas Love Campaign. Please scroll to the bottom of this post for the details how to enter.
If you remember my earlier Quick N Easy Prima Bead Hostess Gift project, I have another super quick and easy DIY project to share today that helps wrap that project up. And who doesn’t love to give and receive gifts in a pretty package? …ps…make sure you read all the way to the end for a chance to win a fabulous gift package!
This was probably one of the fastest projects I’ve ever put together. I used a fabulous raw burlap wine bag from Canvas Corp and dressed it up with some stunningly gorgeous May Arts Ribbon. I love the look of burlap in almost any form and I’ll admit I love the way burlap smells. Weird, huh? While the bag could have done a great job on its own, I decided that some shimmery ribbon from May Arts ribbon would dress it up for the holidays and make this a make it a complete hostess gift.
I used a 2/8” silver ribbon to dress the top with no sewing. I just glued it directly to the burlap.
For the bottom bow, I glued a strip of 1 1/2” metallic ribbon directly around the bottom. I used my super easy Craft-Dee Bowz to create this multi-looped bow. It took just a few seconds to wrap and tie the bow with an extra minute to fluff it out. Again, I just glued this directly to the silver ribbon strip. All together, I think it came out really great, but most of all, it was another Quick N Easy DIY gift project for the holidays.
Are you making any handmade gifts for the holidays? If you are, I also invite you to check out Susan K Weckesser’s Christmas Love Campaign and her Design Team’s Hand-Made Christmas projects. There are lots of prize packages being offered throughout the Holiday Season.
And in the spirit of giving, we are offering our Fans and Friends a chance to win a prize package from Ranger Ink possibly containing such goodies as stencils, aprons, Distress Inks, pens, & ink pads. Each bag will be different. So, what do you have to do to win?
- Create a card or craft to randomly give someone
- LIKE Christmas Love Campaign Facebook page
- share a picture of your project – you can write a blog post and share the link or share your project picture directly to the Christmas Love Campaign Facebook wall
- LIKE Ranger Ink and tell them thanks for sponsoring Christmas Love Campaign
- Finally, come back here and let me know you did these things and where I can see your project!
**You have until Monday night at midnight – 11/18/2013 midnight CST to share and leave me a comment.**
I am so excited to see what everyone is creating and it’s so much fun to read about all the handmade gifts being shared this year!

Beautiful wine bag!!!! I made a quilt last weekend for a homeless lady I saw on the news. She is staying in her car because the shelter won’t allow her to bring her cats with her. She said that the cats are her only family since her husband died. My neighbor is delivering the stuff since she is an hour away and I don’t drive. I made my neighbor an apple pie to thank them for doing this so I got double the pleasure from doing this! 🙂
I posted my pictures on My Sweet Earth Handmade Holidays blog post, and the following Facebook pages: Susan Weckesser, Christmas Love Campaign and Ranger Ink.
I have done all of the above steps. Thanks for the chance to win just for doing something I would have done anyways!

I would have done this anyways. Her story just broke my heart and I knew that she was going to need to stay warm since it has gotten very cold here. I just got in contact with the news station today and made sure that she is still doing ok and found out that a landlord has offered her an apartment with free rent for 3 months. Also, so many donations were raised for her that she is set for at least a year for groceries, rent and all utilities. I was so glad to hear that so many people opened their hearts to this woman and her cats. It gives you hope that maybe things will be all right with the world someday! For now all is right in her world and that makes my heart sing!
