So why does it take a whole week to recover from a weekend get-away? I still haven’t completely unpacked nor recovered from lack of sleep from my scrapbook retreat weekend.
I did get a few things finished, but nothing like I had hoped to. I learned a bit about expectations and overpacking. I also learned why some of you gals pack your earplugs. I’m so glad I had my Ipod and headset. There were a few times that I just needed to zone out and tune out for a little bit. 🙂
Nevertheless, this above is a layout I did finish. I will confess that it was a group effort though. I am a SSSLLOOOOW scrapper. I overthink things way to much. My friend, Jackie, can just pull out some papers and pictures and put them together in a way that looks like she spent 2 hours on a layout that only took her 30 minutes to complete. I feel mine sometimes look like I only spent 30 minutes where it took my 2 hours actually. So, I asked Jackie to show my her ‘thinking’ process. I pulled out the picture I wanted to use and a new kit I wanted to delve into. I then asked her if she was going to do this layout, what is her process of design. She pulled out a few pieces of paper and embellies and put everything else away! Ding..ding…ding… that was my lightbulb moment. It probably sounds so simple to you seasoned scrappers, but I have had a habit of keeping all papers (and everything else) out – just in case I change my mind or find something that MIGHT look even better. So, after Jackie pulled out some papers and gave me this info along with a couple of ideas, she left it with me to put together and embellish. I am quite pleased with the final product and most excited about the new approach I will apply to scrapbooking. Below are a few more closeup pics.
Here is a close up of some distrezzing I did on the horizontal layer. I love my Distrezz-It-All.
A birdcage die from the Tim Holtz dies. Love this just peeking out a bit.
Isn’t this just yummy? Love these papers. I added some My Minds Eye to this kit, but all other papers are from a great kit that my friend, Katie, recommended. the kit is The Scarlet Lime. This kit is chocked full of goodness and I love how all the papers and embellies are mix from different lines. This was some Webster pages, KaiserCraft, and Studio Calico mixed together. I added just a few embellies from my own stash.
Well, I have a really great mini-album, which I’ll try to get uploaded and share with you this weekend. It is a project I finished for my LSS, Everything Scrapbook and Stamps. If you stop by, ask Michelle to see it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Cher – well its me – 2 weeks after we were going to maybe skype each other…. I;m sat still on the sofa in the lounge – no webcam, but trying to catch up with everyone; this is my first bloghop in over 2 weeks so will catch up with you and your other posts again when i’m all up to date.
Just a note to say – i never turn my laptop off – so if you think i’ve ignored you if you’ve tried to skype me – i won’t have – my lil’ ol’ laptop will be on and logged in etc – i could be anywhere (like in the hospital)!!! LOL
I’ll catch up with you soon – but notice from your comment on my blog that you;ve been busy – don’t worry – i;m the opposite and trying not to do much – but am finding it really hard going and frustrating.
Take care and catch up with you soon
