Each year, Art Mundo celebrates their largest fundraiser, Calendart. Each artist submits one original work of art 5 x 7. Each work is juried and 36 artists are selected. This year, my submission was selected. Once you are selected as a Calendartist, you are then required to submit 12 more pieces of original artwork, 5×7, representative of your original submission. Aspen Whispers in Encaustic
I am so pleased with how this came out. I have been playing more with my encaustic supplies and happy to have finally bought a simple griddle for my craft table. I’m using the griddle to melt the wax in small tins – or directly on griddle – so I can paint with it! For this piece, I started with a small 6×6 Ampersand encausticbord.
